If you’re reading this it probably means you’re damn good and you just became a VILTian… so:

WELCOME TO THE VILT FAMILY!!!

The first thing you should know about VILT is that this company is all about PEOPLE. Everything begins and ends in YOU, VILT employees. More than a group of colleagues, you’ll find a group of friends who work TOGETHER towards common goals.

We have a culture of EXCELLENCE and HARD WORK, but also a culture of TEAMWORK and GOOD HUMOUR, which is mandatory at VILT. Make sure you read out 5 commandments and our vision: Sustainable Business Growth!

I invite you to go through this welcome guide and learn more about who we are, what we do, where we come from and what tools we use in our day to day VILTian lifes.

What's OUR attitude and behaviour?

Being a large family, you must always keep in mind: respect, integrity, collaboration and sharing. We work in open space offices, making it more enjoyable and fun to work, but you must always try not to disturb colleagues who are concentrated, in a conference call or performing a group task. Each and every one of us has our one place and should not invade other’s, just share it.

No specific dress code is required at VILT office, but you must be aware when visiting customers, because these do require a more formal appearance.

What a buddy really does?

The buddy should check with the new VILTian daily for a while to answer questions and offer guidance. As minimum and to just some examples, the buddy should:

  • Show the new Joiner around and introduce him/her to the others;
  • Show him/her where to get equipment and supplies (ex: printer, phones desk, coffee machine, toilettes, etc);
  • Show our tools: Zeus, Minder, Athena, Cybelle and in each one give a briefing how it works and the main functionalties;
  • In ZEUS, please ensure that he/she completes his/her personal details, competencies and put a photo in his/her profile;
  • Introduce him/her in VILT groups: Fun, birthays, enrollments, etc;
  • Show the VILT site and Social Networks sharing the last events;
  • Eat lunch with him/her during the first few days;
  • Ensure he/she completes the welcome guide in 2 weeks.

What is it?

Most of you are aware about it but since we are growing very fast, some of the new VILTians may not be aware. Therefore:

A “VILT Award” is a symbolic prize, which is attributed by the VILT board and managers, by country, to the person who for some reason has given prestige to this institution, contributing in a significant way for VILT success or has been a key element in the support given to another team member in solving a problem.

This way we intend to recognize your effort and dedication in a much more regular way and not only at the end of the year.

Which are the prizes?

The prizes are not in money, but articles or services that are meant to be appreciated by the winners, for instance, skydiving experiences, gadjets or romantic dinners :)

We expect that everyone appreciates its real value: that is VILT's recognition for the work of everyone and for the pleasure you can have by using it and not for the commercial value it might have.

How does the nomination process works?

This is a process that requires EVERYONE'S involvement. In order to do that, besides the project managers input, each one can nominate a peer.

Training - Learning & Development

VILT considers training essential for the development of the team.

Each month there are internal seminars/workshops that are taught by VILTians. When someone has achieved a level of expertise in a subject that others might find useful and interesting, he/she can reach the responsible for Human Capital and find an adequate date for the workshop.

There is also the possibility to attend interesting courses. If a VILTian considers that one needs some kind of training in order to improve one’s knowledge in a particular area, he/she can also talk to the Human Capital Responsible about it and together look for an adequate training according to his/her needs.

Come & Cala

What is it?

Workshops/Sessions, from and to VILTians. The main goal is to share some know-how about technologies/tools or others subjects and, at the same time, share experiences in our clients.

The sessions are 100% informal. The idea is for, during 1h/1h30 (lunch time in ES & PT or breakfast in BR), all VILTians to take the opportunity to discuss/share information about any interesting subject and, at the same time, have lunch/breakfast.

VILT will be the sponsor of pizzas or equivalent ;)

The workshops will take place in the 3 countries and all VILTians are 'called' to take part in all workshops, locally or by webex/equivalent.

Since this initiative is from and to all VILTians, ALL OF US are invited to give life to this idea!

So, we leave you the challenge: suggest topics and propose yourself as the host!!

Benefits

Sports Allowance

VILT has a lot of people who practice or like sports.

In order to encourage these practices together and promote a healthy life style, it was decided to provide the following sport allowance: Up to 150.00€ monthly by office.

Guidelines

At least 60% of the team must be Viltians.

If the first rule is broken more than once per month, the allowance can be cancelled;

The team shall designate one person in charge of (a rotation method may be used):

2.1 The payment - dealt by office manager;

2.2 Asking for the receipt with tax payer ID - mandatory;

2.3 Send it to Accounting on a monthly basis.

The same person will make sure the first rule is met.

2.4. The team should be responsible for organizing itself in one or more different sports.

This benefit starts in August, 1 and needs to be approved by the board on an annual basis.

One enters the office with a key. The Office Manager will give you one and clarify you in case of any doubts.

Work Schedule

One of VILT's benefits is the flexibility with your work schedule. Each VILTian is free to define his/her own work schedule according to the needs, as long as the tasks are organized with the other VILTians and its possible to do it in the current project. VILT trusts their people and therefore we don´t have a rigorous control regarding this topic. Each one knows what his/her tasks are and the deadlines to have them concluded.

Office Facilities

All equipments in the office are freely available for your use!!! … But with RESPONSIBILITY which means, at least, leave them in the same or better state than you found.

Pantry/Kitchen

The office has a small pantry with a coffee machine and a freezer for your usage. It is usual to see some VILTians taking a snack together and relaxing a little bit. Join them! VILT has also some snacks, bread, milk and soft drinks for VILTians consume. Enjoy it!

Entering the Office

You'll be given an access card and a key, please bring your card everyday as you need it to enter and exit the building.

The building is open from 9am to 10pm, while the reception is open from 10am to 8pm. If you need to access it outside those hours, there is a key in the office for the outside door.

GREEN IT

VILT is proud to be the first Green IT Certified company in Portugal.

Green IT is a certification that evaluates the sustainability of IT companies through a rigorous standard that includes guidelines, procedures and specifications for monitoring.

Our Green IT strategy will allow a reduction in costs, with the reduction of energy consumption in the order of 15%, and reduced paper use by the expansion of our Document Management System to other departments and business processes.

The challenge VILT faces is to maintain its commitment to maximize energy efficiency, purchasing certified hardware, promote recycling and biodegradability of no longer used products and work with suppliers who have the same kind of environmental concerns.

Our Green IT Process encompassed 3 key moments: Analysis (weaknesses, strenghths and opportunities), Green IT Strategy definition and its 12 months roadmap Implementation.
